PDU Event: Bleeding Edge Project Management
Overview
Join us on Wednesday, January 14, 2026, where members are invited to explore what it really means to lead projects at the edge of uncertainty—where speed, ambiguity, and unconventional structures are the norm rather than the exception.
As startups and Web3-inspired ways of working increasingly influence mainstream organizations, project managers are being asked to adapt their leadership approach without abandoning the fundamentals that make projects succeed.
This session draws directly from Kevin’s hands-on experience working in startup and Web3-adjacent environments. Participants will explore what genuinely changes when moving away from traditional organizational models, and what does not. The discussion will cut through buzzwords to focus on how core project management principles still apply, while also examining how leadership style, risk tolerance, and decision-making must evolve in settings defined by incomplete information, rapid iteration, and unconventional governance.
Key Takeaways
-
Distinguish what genuinely changes—and what does not—when managing projects in startup and Web3 environments versus traditional organizations
-
Apply practical leadership techniques for operating effectively amid ambiguity, rapid change, and limited structure
-
Make faster, higher-quality decisions with incomplete information while maintaining delivery discipline
-
Adapt risk management and governance approaches to high-uncertainty, low-process environments
-
Establish credibility and influence in flat or unconventional team structures
-
Lead with a people-first mindset to maintain alignment, trust, and momentum under pressure
By the end of the session, attendees will have a clearer understanding of how ways of working differ between traditional organizations and startups or Web3 environments, and how to operate effectively within those differences. Participants will leave with practical project leadership techniques for navigating high uncertainty, accelerating decision-making, and maintaining control and credibility when structure is limited and change is constant.
